Moving on to Cubs

The next section after Beaver Scouts is Cub Scouts, which caters for members aged 8 to 10½.

When transferring to the Cub Pack, Beavers are asked to participate in a 3 - 4 week transition period where they attend both Beavers and Cub meetings. Generally, this takes place when they reach the age of 8 but could be up to 3 months before or after depending upon room in the Cub Pack and on how many other Beavers are going up at the same time.

The Beavers will receive a visit from one of the Cub leaders just before they start Cubs to introduce the section and to invite them to the meetings. They will also receive a letter explaining what will happen.

Once they have completed this period, Beavers will be awarded their Moving On Award and then invested into one of the Cub Packs. Cub uniform should be purchased during the transition.

We have prepared a leaflet giving information on the move to Cubs, please see the attachment below.

More information on Cubs and the Cub Pack is available on the Cub section of our website. If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to one of the Beaver Scout Leaders or the Cub Scout Leaders.
